New Product Express | Halo Microelectronics Launches High-Efficiency, Low-Power DC-DC Buck Conversion Chip HL7542

November 18, 2025

In recent years, electronic devices have developed rapidly under the in-depth empowerment of AI technology. Especially with the popularization of portable and wearable devices, power management efficiency has become the focus of the industry. To meet this demand, Halo Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Halo Microelectronics") announces the launch of HL7542 — a new 800mA DC-DC buck conversion chip. Featuring ultra-low power consumption and high efficiency, the chip can provide more efficient and stable power management solutions for various portable devices, helping to extend battery life and optimize device performance.

Product Overview

HL7542 is a high-efficiency, low-power DC-DC buck conversion chip suitable for a wide range of portable terminal device applications. It has a broad input voltage range and supports multiple output voltage options, including 2.8V, 3.3V, 0.7V, 1.2V and 1.8V, enabling flexible adaptation to different application scenarios. Even when the load current is as low as 1mA, HL7542 can still maintain high efficiency, ensuring stable operation of the device in low-power mode.

HL7542 adopts advanced Pulse Skipping Mode (PSM) and Fixed-Frequency Pulse Width Modulation (FPWM) technology, which can automatically switch operating modes under different load conditions to optimize efficiency and performance. Under light load conditions, the chip reduces quiescent current through PSM mode to minimize energy consumption; under heavy load conditions, it automatically switches to FPWM mode to ensure output voltage stability and transient response capability.

Product Advantages

  • High Efficiency & Low Power Consumption. HL7542 maintains high efficiency across multiple output voltages, especially under light load conditions where PSM mode further optimizes energy consumption. It features extremely low quiescent current in standby mode, significantly extending battery life — making it ideal for portable and wearable devices.
  • Flexible Output Voltage Adjustment. Supporting multiple output voltage options configured via the Vesl pin, HL7542 is simple to apply yet versatile. It meets the power management needs of smart watches, fitness trackers and other portable devices.
  • Excellent Load Transient Response. With a maximum output of 800mA, HL7542 ensures output voltage stability through FPWM mode under heavy load conditions and delivers outstanding load transient response. This enables devices to operate stably even with rapidly changing loads.
  • Compact Package Design. HL7542 adopts a compact WLCSP package (1.193mm * 0.783mm), suitable for space-constrained applications. Its small size meets the lightweight requirements of devices.
  • Ultra-Low Quiescent Current. The quiescent current of HL7542 in standby mode is as low as 1.8μA, significantly reducing battery power consumption and extending device usage time. This is particularly important for devices requiring long standby periods, such as smart watches and fitness trackers.

Future Outlook

According to market research institutions, the global wearable device market size is expected to exceed 150 billion US dollars by 2030. Meanwhile, device sizes will be further reduced compared to five years ago, and the market demand for ultra-low power consumption power products will continue to grow. Leveraging its independently developed proprietary DC-DC control architecture, Halo Microelectronics has launched HL7542 — a high-efficiency, low-power power management chip that provides a leading solution for the industry.

The launch of HL7542 not only demonstrates Halo Microelectronics' technical strength in the power management field but also brings new development opportunities to the industry. We believe that HL7542 will become an ideal choice for power management in future electronic devices, helping customers maintain a leading position in the market.
