September 18, 2026
Halo Microelectronics’ wholly owned subsidiary, Shenzhen Chengxinwei Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Chengxinwei”), has officially launched the CX8836—a high-performance four-switch synchronous buck-boost control chip. With a wide input and output voltage range, peak conversion efficiency of up to 96%, and comprehensive built-in protection features, this product is specifically designed for applications such as car chargers, USB PD power supplies, and portable device power management, helping customers achieve compact, high-power, and highly reliable power supply designs.
Product Overview
The CX8836 is a four-switch synchronous buck‑boost control IC that supports a wide input voltage range of 4.5 V to 40 V and a wide output voltage range of 3 V to 25 V, with an output current capability of up to 10 A. In both buck and boost operating modes, the device employs current-mode control, delivering excellent load‑regulation performance and ensuring stable, precise output voltages across varying input and output conditions. Output voltage regulation accuracy reaches ±2%, and the operating mode can be configured as either DCM or CCM, providing flexible adaptation to diverse power‑supply design requirements.
Core Features
The CX8836 features an adjustable output voltage range that supports PD 3.0 (PPS) and QC 4.0 fine‑voltage regulation. Its switching frequency and soft‑start time are both flexibly configurable, enabling engineers to optimize system performance and electromagnetic compatibility for a variety of application scenarios. The chip integrates built-in constant‑current control; it monitors the output current via the ISNSP/ISNSN pins and, in conjunction with an external sense resistor, provides programmable output current limiting and short‑circuit protection.
